PeTA Hates You & Your Disgusting Thanksgiving Dinner

The cultural terrorists over at the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals object to you and your family's decision to eat turkey for Thanksgiving and want you to see this tv commercial during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

NBC chose to reject the ad, so PETA resubmitted it to local stations, who are also refusing to show it.

Almost thirty years into its history, PeTA still doesn't have an agenda beyond its attempts to shock people. There's no workable plan of action: you agree with them or you're evil.

Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy your turkey and this Penn & Teller video about PeTA.

UPDATE: All you old people will be sad to notice that the PeTA spokesperson is Pamelyn Ferdin, the former child actress you probably remember from Star Trek, The Odd Couple, The Brady Bunch or dozens of other 60s & 70s TV appearances.

MSNBC Gets Pwned By Car Dealer's Demand to See Obama's Birth Certificate

Colorado card dealer Phil Wolf put up an anti-Obama "President Jihad" billboard in front of his Wheat Ridge, CO car lot.

The geniuses at MSNBC took the bait, giving him millions in free national advertising. Phil looks about as serious as a traveling snake-oil salesman. America: 1, National News: 0.

Sesame Street Now Part of the Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy

Your tax dollars at work: the geniuses over at Big Hollywood have uncovered hidden messages in a two-year-old episode of Sesame Street, comparing the show to radical leftist brainwashing of the 1940s practiced by folksingers like Pete Seeger.

Oscar starts his own news channel (GNN, the Grouch News Network) and invites CNN's Anderson Cooper on as a guest reporter. PBS sticks it to Fox News with a call from a female grouch who complains about his show and declares,  "From now on, I'm watching Pox News. Now there's a trashy news show."

There are a few issues here: When did Sesame Street get a female grouch? Did Sesame Street make puns and jokes as lame as this when we were kids? Can a joke as bad as this one even qualify as liberal indoctrination of our children?

DirecTV Sees Dead People

New DirecTV commercials featuring the late Chris Farley have generated complaints from fans who think the ads are in bad taste. Just wait until those folks see these alleged new spots. (via Gizmodo)

Let's Blame CNN for the Real Balloon Boy Hoax

Without the overwhelming media firepower that CNN brought to his cause, Colorado nut case Richard Heene would have been just another guy in a tinfoil hat who believes our government is controlled by the Lizard People

Because his family's first call was to a local TV station that owned a helicopter, Heene's claims that his son Falcon had been carried away should have just made the local news and been one of those filler pieces where the anchors laugh that the "kid was hiding in the attic the WHOLE TIME!"

Instead, the national cable news network (with an assist from Fox News and MSNBC, loathe to be left behind on some ratings gold) blew up the story and wasted everyone's time last Thursday.

No one wondered if a guy on put his family on a reality show called Wife Swap might have overwhelming desire to get himself back on television. CNN saw the pretty video and a chance to create the kind of manufactured drama that we usually see on Survivor or The Amazing Race.

Granted, everyone might have needed a break from cable news' endless bickering about the politics (not the substance) of the health care debate and the war in Afghanistan. If the kid's broken body had been in the balloon when it crashed last Thursday, who needed to see that live?

You really have to feel bad for the Heene's neighbors. The video below is a confrontation between a neighbor and the news crews blocking the streets and camped out in front of the Heene home.

The sense of "journalistic" entitlement from the news crews is really the most shocking thing here. They get punked by a crazy man who tricks the news channels into giving him hours of airtime and they're not even a little embarrassed?

Seriously?

Glenn Beck Can't Get His Muse Story Straight

Self-described "rodeo clown" and radio personality Glenn Beck has run into some trouble with British rock band Muse, currently on tour opening for U2.

Beck has championed the band Muse on his radio program, going so far as to play their song "United States of Eurasia" on the air and declare that the band shared his "Libertarian" views.

Beck later announced that the band's management emailed him and asked him to withdraw his endorsement, sparking a minor online controversy that had music news sites asking the band what it had against Glenn Beck.

The Guardian reports today that Beck's reps now claim that he was just "joking" and that he has no idea what the band thinks of him.

Muse, preoccupied with their new album and tour, refuse to participate in American political debate and offer no comment on the subject.

Here's a video of their latest single "Uprising," taken from their new album The Resistance.

Blame Sesame Street When Your Five-Year-Old Asks You for Scotch & a Cigar

Sesame Street tries a Mad Men parody in hopes that someone in the media will pay attention to them.

Cable News Smackdown

Faced with an expansion of the war in Afghanistan, a national debate about the future of health care and an ongoing economic crisis, our national news media is pointing its laser focus on the only thing it truly cares about: itself.

This weekend, CNN's Rick Sanchez devoted over six minutes to a pro-wrestling-style smackdown of a Fox News newspaper ad that mocked its competitors for what Fox called their insufficient coverage of the September 12th Tea Parties in Washington, DC.

Sanchez never points out that the news story in question was about an event staged and promoted by Fox News, instead delivering a tedious recap of everything story CNN did to cover Fox's media circus.

And there's no doubt it's a circus, as evidenced by this YouTube video showing a young Fox News producer whipping up the crowd while Fox reporter Griff Jenkins is reporting live.

CNN and MSNBC will angrily report this and Fox will snipe back, complaining about the bias of the liberal media. None of them will actually research and report the news.

Charlie Sheen Demands that President Obama Face the Truth About 9/11

Most Americans don't realize that Two and a Half Men actor and noted Hollywood john Charlie Sheen gained extensive foreign policy and national security experience from his roles in the classic '80s films Red Dawn and Platoon.

Sheen has put that experience to good use as one of America's highest-profile spokesmen for the 9/11 Truth movement. In a compelling post for Alex Jones' Prison Planet blog, Charlie transcribes an imaginary interview with President Barack Obama where Sheen both confuses and dazzles the President with his irrefutable logic. Obama eventually promises to take him seriously and hints that a new investigation just might be forthcoming.

No word yet as to whether real-life President Obama plans to listen to Charlie, even though Sheen has assured the White House that Obama's alternate-reality predecessor Jed Bartlet would have surely taken the meeting by now.

(Military.com has a new blog from former CNN correspondent Jamie McIntyre called Line of Departure. Jamie's talking about the 9/11 conspiracy theories today with posts titled What Really Happened 9/11 and Will the Conspiracy Theories Ever Die?)
